This Tenor Sunrise has the name "Double Back" for a reason that does not catch the eye at first glance.
This ukulele has a double back, which creates a tonal advantage.
As a master plucking instrument maker, I can confirm that, especially with ukuleles, the back is an area which very little, if not at all, resonates. This is because when playing, the instrument is held completely against the body and the back of the instrument is thus dampened. However, if you install a soundboard in the interior of the instrument that cannot be dampened, you get an instrument that is significantly louder.

The principle of the double back has meanwhile been refined in such a way that it supports hardwood tops incredibly and brings even more volume.
With this special instrument, the interplay of the same wood was chosen for the soundboard and top for the first time.
The result is more than satisfactory.
This instrument has an extraordinary, room-filling sound and brings not only a unique volume but also depth. It was important for me to develop a subtle design,
which does not restrict the functionality of the double floor and yet also brings something special with it.
I created a frame around the instrument with subtle inlays and shavings made of ebony and maple.
The matching mosaic, which adorns the sound hole and the side joint, rounds off the instrument in a simple but striking way.
The walnut used not only has a visually unique and expressive and flamed grain, but also a very voluminous and warm tone. To match the body, which was made of walnut and Sitka spruce, I used a mahogany neck, which has the classic, chic design rounded off.
The machine heads of this particular ukulele were handcrafted in Markneukirchen/Germany.
The body and the neck of the ukulele have been varnished with a nitro-cellulose varnish.
This has a very nice, natural feel and is pleasant to hold for a long time.
